Day 90 - Nice to receive

These 2 sympathy cards arrived in the mail today.
One is from E's grandmother and the other is from
a friend.

Day 89 - They mystery of the clock

It sat idle for 2 weeks, a victim of dead
batteries. The other day it just started
all on it's own and it's keeping perfect
time. Very strange.

Day 88 - Hello from Heaven

Marian told me she would send butterflies as
a message of love from Heaven. When we
returned from her funeral, my husband found
this foam butterfly in our driveway.

Day 87 - A Day of Mourning

This yellow rose was given to me by Marian's
daughter after the graveside service. I took the
flower to my niece's grave site that was a short
distance away. She died at age 29 of breast cancer.
So much love, but so much pain. So many tears
and so many broken hearts.

Day 86 - I needed this...

A glimpse of blue in my cloudy day.

Day 85 - Color in an otherwise drab environment

The bright color caught my eye when
I drove into my driveway today. While
attempting to snap this photo
(there were a few complications) I saw
2 bald eagles fly out of the trees.
It was an incredible site!

Day 84 - A hint of spring?

When I walked out of my house this
afternoon, the green by the snow
immediately caught my eye. Perhaps
spring really is on it's way.

Day 83 - The loss of a loved one

Today my heart is sad. My beloved
Marian left this world to join the angels.
Even the outside is crying.

Day 82 - Last card posting for a while

I've fallen in love with the hedgehogs
and the bug paper. I made several cards
today but I had self control and only
posted one. :-)

Day 81 - Johanna

When I turned 40, my mother found
this photo of my grandmother Johanna,
holding my father. While I always knew
I had a grandmother that died before
I was born, I just never gave it any
thought about what she looked like.
When my mother gave me this photo,
I felt a tremendous sense of loss.
Johanna's smiling face tugged at my heart.
I see Johanna's eyes and smile in my oldest
daughter's face. Even now to this day, I miss
not knowing my grandmother.

Day 80 - A sad card to make

A co-worker, who was 4 months
pregnant, ended up with complications
and lost her baby. :-( The inside
of this card simply says, "Thinking of
You".

Day 79 - A card for a co-worker

After I got this card all finished, I started to
envision it with different paper, different ribbons
and different coloring on the scrolls.
That always happens to me when I make cards.

Day 78 - 32 years together...

Here's what my husband and I looked
like on our wedding day 32 years ago
today. My father-in-law took this
photograph with his Polaroid camera.

Day 77 - Easter Cards are almost done!

All I have left to do is wind a ribbon thru the holes
on the card and address the envelopes. I'm three
weeks ahead of schedule. Miracles do happen!

Day 76 - Music to my ears

I love when the frozen water of the
pond melts enough to make the water
rush thru the opening of the dam.
It's a sound that I hadn't heard for months,
I heard it again for the first time yesterday
but the road was too icy to walk down and take
a photo. Today the ice on the road had thawed
so I had safe travels.

Day 75 - Happy Pre-St. Patrick's Day!

Here's the cards I created for my husband's aunts
and cousins. I did better this time, I put them in the
morning mail instead of racing to finish them by the
last mail pickup of the day. I think I'll start my Easter
Cards tomorrow.

Day 74 - A great Sunday afternoon!

Today some friends and I took a water coloring
class. Here's what the table looked like BEFORE
we started creating. It's already a mess and it
only got worse from that point on!

Day 73 - This is a great sign!

I saw this sign in a coffee shop today.
I can easily relate to it as I am not
a morning person in any way, shape,
or form.

Day 72 - Procrastinated once again :-(

It just dawned on me today that St. Patrick's
Day is Tuesday and I have to make and get my
cards in the mail. Now I have to rush, my least
favorite thing to do.

Day 71 - Ribbon, ribbon, ribbon

I loved how these ribbons looked
when being emptied from this basket.

Day 70 - Better bakers needed in the kitchen

I love this organic flatbread. However,
this is the 3rd time I have purchased it
and the flatbread has been burnt.
Either they don't have quality control
in their kitchens or they just plain don't
know how to bake flatbread. Emailing
them only bounced back a failed mail
server on their end.

Day 69 - The end of an era...

After 145 years, and 5 generations, the family owned
Simonet Furniture Store announced today that they
would be going out of business. You can read the

Day 68 - A day filled with the color pink

Today would have been my mom's
birthday if she was still on this earth
with us. She loved the color pink.
She wore it all the time. I thought it
so fitting today to spend it in my pink
sewing room, sewing with my pink trimmed
sewing machine, and sewing an all pink tote
for my friend's birthday tomorrow. There was
even an added surprise when I ran out of pink
thread and another roll was surprisingly found in
my stash of thread.

Day 67 - Sign of Spring

Today when I stopped in at Joann
Fabrics I was happy to see all the
spring fabric they now had in stock.
This dress to be caught my eye.
I know my youngest daughter would
love this dress. She loves fabrics that
blend from one to another.

Day 66 - Not quite right

First we worked so hard at the Y
to lose some calories, then afterwards
we went to this restaurant and put them
right back on.

Day 65 - A Start

I'm of to a good start for my friend's birthday
present. Five hours of marathon sewing got me
this far tonight. I still have so far to go.

Day 64 - It looks like a forest

I took this photo outside of a local
restaurant. In a way, it looks like
it's a shot of a forest. If you look
really close in the photo you will
see what looks like blue berries
amidst the green. Click on the

Day 63 - A gift to his fellow employees

My husband has a co-worker who is battling
stage 4 cancer. Today he hosted a fondue party
for the rest of the ladies on his floor to try to cheer
them up during this sad time. He did the shopping,
he plated everything and he even mixed up the
chocolate fondue. I didn't even know he had these
talents within him!

Day 62 - Some days....

It's all about the chocolate...

Day 61 - Google Art

Google changed it's nameplate this morning to
honor Theodore Geisel, or Dr. Seuss, who would
have been 105 today.

Day 60 - Fine Dining

Not to mention the finest desserts
and the finest company ever! I
just love my friend DEE!!!
