Day 59 - My next project

This pile of fabric is going to be a quilted tote
for my friend's birthday. Her birthday is in
ten days so I need to start now - actually I should
have started weeks ago since I'm such a procrastinator.

Day 58 - I tried....

We girls had craft night tonight and I packed
a lot of supplies. I had good intentions in getting
a lot of work done, but all I managed to do was
work my mouth.

Day 57 -My view leaving downtown

And the roads were even worse
once I left the city streets and moved
on to the country roads. I think it
was the worse visibility I have ever have
driven in. All I saw was sheets of white.
I couldn't even pull over as I couldn't
even see where the pull over area was!
I'm just glad to be home!

Day 56 - Ash Wednesday

When I was a kid they used to say
"Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust".

Day 55 - The Bag Man

This is a view of my husband
walking from the garage to the
house tonight. He has 2 computers,
his lunch box from yesterday
and his lunch box from today.
Talk about having his hands full!

Day 54 - The project for today

I finally completed the apron I mentioned in a
previous post. I could not believe how much work
it was to sew this one little apron. I hope the lady
likes it. It's always hard to sew for someone you have
never seen.

Day 53 - A good place for a nap

While visiting my daughter and son-in-law today,
my son-in-law turned on the fireplace. I love the
warmth it provides to their living room.
I laid down in front of it and fell instantly asleep.
Since I have sleep issues, my family is used to me
taking impromptu naps. This is one of my favorite
places to nap.

Day 52 - Easter Cards

Finally they have come out with an
Easter stamp that is not bunnies or chicks.
I need to start my Easter cards now as I am a
professional at waiting until the last minute
to get my cards finished and in the mail.
I finished my Valentines at 3:30 on Feb. 13.
Mail pickup was at 4:00.

Day 51 - Tinkerbell

Here's the Tinkerbell cake that we had at the party
today for our co-worker who is leaving. It was a
chocolate cake which made all of the women very
happy.

Day 50 - Ribbon, Ribbon, Ribbon

I love when Michaels gets in their seasonal ribbon.
It's always fun to see the new colors and styles.
This is the new spring and Easter line of ribbon.

Day 49 - Another Gift from C

C got new license plates today. She gave her
old one to my husband. My husband was
especially fond of her plate as JFS was his father's
initials. Every time we see a plate with those initials
we always felt like it was a Hello from Heaven.

Day 48 - A Gift from C

It's a super sticker kit for gmail short cuts.

Day 47 - My magazine of choice

When I do indulge and buy a magazine
it is usually this one. I thought about
getting a subscription but in this issue
they mentioned they would be putting
their magazine on-line. I guess I'll
just wait and see how it goes before
making a decision.

Day 46 - In his opinion

My hubby thinks my craft/sewing room is a
disaster zone. I tell him it's a work in progress.
He posted this sign on the door today.

Day 45 - Six Blades in MN

Today I watched my daughter and her friends
practice for their upcoming race. When I saw them
all sitting together with their skates, it looked like
such a cool shot. I ended up waiting until they
were on the ice to take the shot.

Day 44 - My work table

I have a large cutting table in my sewing room.
When I'm not sewing and in need of making
cards, I like to sprawl out on this table. It is
72 inches wide so there is a lot of room to work.
As you can tell from the image I'm working
on the last of my valentines.

Day 43 - My next project

I'll be making the apron in the bottom right corner.
It's an apron to go over a flower girl dress. It will
be made out of ivory eyelet with just a touch of lace.
By having an apron, the flower girl will keep her
dress nice and clean while she has dinner - at least
that's what the bride envisions.

Day 42 - Today's Project

Today I made a card for a friend of mine.
She just lost her job and my fellow employees
and I will surely miss her smiling face.

Day 41 - So Slippery!!!

The icy road conditions made driving
up this hill next to impossible.
Walking it wasn't such a great idea
either as I ended up with a skinned knee
and a sore arm and shoulder.

Day 40 - Miracles of Miracles!

I purchased this gift card months ago
to give to my daughter for Christmas.
When it came time to put it in her stocking, it
was no where to be found. I looked high
and low and in every possible spot I could
think of to look but it was not to be found.
I ended up putting an IOU in the stocking.
Today, through some miracle, a white envelope
was sitting on my desk. I opened it, and there
was the gift card. I'm not sure where it had
been, but I'm glad it's back!

Day 39 - Unconditional Love

Today is the wedding anniversary of my in-laws.
They were married for 54 years. I know they are
still united in Heaven and today they are celebrating
72 years of never ending love.

Day 38 - Love never dies

My brother died on this date in the year 2002.
My sadness today was restored when I was able
to spend the evening with the family he left behind.
Just hugging each one of them restored my soul.

Day 37 - Today's Project

I made aprons for my friend Jane and she wanted
to have matching hot pad holders as well.
I thought I had until March to complete them but
imagine my surprise when I found out today that
they were needed tomorrow! I hate when I have to rush!

Day 36 - A trip down memory lane

This is a plate I purchased about 10 years ago.
I bought it because it always reminded me of
my dad. When we were growing up, he had a
red Allis Chalmers tractor that he would lean
against.

Day 35 - Doomed from the start

Here's the 2nd attempt at making cinnamon rolls.
The first attempt was a complete success but tonight
everything went wrong. First I layered everything
into the bread machine and set it to "dough". One hour
and 40 minutes later it beeped that it was done. However,
the ingredients were still layered and not a thing had been
mixed together. I took the pan out, put it back in and started
the dough cycle over again. This time it worked. After all the
necessary steps it was time to bake them in the regular oven.
After cooking them to golden brown, we cooled and frosted the rolls.
When serving the first roll, we discovered that while the top had been
golden brown the bottom was raw dough. Back to the oven they
went. After cooking them for a while, I discovered that where
there had once been a doughy bottom there was now
a completely burnt bottom. It was a bad day in the kitchen. :-(

Day 34 - Quite a few more to go

The colorful pink paper shown in a previous post
is slowly turning into Valentines. I have quite a few
more to go but it's time to create a different design
for variety.

Day 32 - It's all about the food!

And the incredibly exciting game!
